A heelside takeoff where the board turns nose backward (a bit like an inverted rear wheel). This is the foundational trick for all horizontal forward/backward rotations.
Tips to land it
Make a short and firm pull to generate tension, without throwing yourself directly into it.
Gradually increase the speed and energy of the edge rather than forcing it all at once.
Lower your head slightly towards the line during the rotation to maintain balance.
Spot the water at the end of the rotation then open your body for a cushioned landing.
