Located within the vast Al Forsan International Sports Resort in Khalifa City near Abu Dhabi, the Al Forsan Cable Park is the first cable wakeboard, waterski, and kneeboard park in the entire Arabian Peninsula.
The site features two full cable loops and a dedicated System 2.0 line for beginners, spread across two bodies of water (one for experienced riders, one for beginners). The obstacles are provided by the Polish manufacturer Wakepro, with modules such as kickers of various sizes, a transition tube, and rails, allowing for cable speeds between 29 and 38 km/h depending on skill level.
Al Forsan International Sports Resort spans approximately 1.6 km² and offers many other activities beyond cable: shooting sports, horseback riding, karting, and an Al Forsan Wakeboard Academy dedicated to training young riders. The complex is about 10 minutes from Abu Dhabi Airport and the ADNEC convention center.
The obstacles provided by the Polish manufacturer Wakepro cover a classic range of progression modules: increasing size kickers for learning jumps, rails and boxes for technical sliding work, as well as a transition tube for more experienced riders. The System 2.0 line allows beginners to learn without the full cable constraint, a necessary step before moving on to one of the two main loops.
The fact that Al Forsan is part of a larger sports resort, with horseback riding, shooting sports, and karting on the same site, makes it a destination designed for families with varied interests rather than just a single-activity wakeboard club. This diversity has also allowed the complex to position itself as a regional reference for introducing young people to sports in Abu Dhabi, through its dedicated academy.
Recent visitor reviews report periods when only part of the facilities were operational, with rising prices: it's best to check the current state of the site and the applicable rates directly before going, rather than relying on outdated information.
Despite these reservations to verify on a case-by-case basis, Al Forsan remains a historical reference for cable wakeboarding in the Gulf region, and a stop to consider for any rider passing through Abu Dhabi.
The distinction between the two bodies of water on site allows for natural progression: the area reserved for beginners offers calmer conditions and a reduced cable speed, before moving to the main loop once the basics are mastered. Helmets and life jackets are provided on site, as is customary in most cable parks in the Gulf region.
For any family residing or visiting Abu Dhabi wishing to experience cable wakeboarding in a supervised and safe environment, Al Forsan remains a place to consider, provided that the current state of the facilities is checked before going.
